PEI-Genesis expands Asia-Pacific production with new India facility

PEI-Genesis has expanded its manufacturing presence in Asia-Pacific with the opening of a 50,000-square-foot production facility in Pune, India. The site is the company’s sixth production facility worldwide and its second in the region, joining its existing operation in Zhuhai, China. It will provide value-added assembly of MIL-DTL-38999 Series I and III circular connectors for aerospace, aviation, defense, industrial and other demanding applications. PEI-Genesis says the facility will give customers faster and more flexible access to critical interconnect products. It will maintain locally stocked inventory from leading connector manufacturers while offering 48-hour lead times, low-to-no minimum order quantities and transactions in Indian rupees for domestic customers. Operations began on July 1, and the Pune team has already shipped its first customer order. The expansion forms part of PEI-Genesis’s long-term investment in India and the wider Asia-Pacific market. It also coincides with the company’s 80th anniversary and is expected to strengthen its regional supply chain while bringing assembly capabilities closer to customers.
